"Bacteria,Diatoms & Cells" has been an ongoing series of installations from the late 80s to the present. Each installation is specific to the site,
comprising of a new grouping of parts in an unique arrangement. Each part is different but similar, like siblings in a large family. The parts are made from a variety of clays using wheel-thrown and hand-built techniques. They may be painted with slips, underglazes, clear and colored glazes or salt-glazed. This project evolves and mutates with each installation much like the bacteria, diatoms and cells in nature and in us.
